Okay, okay, this isn't a photo of me, but it just so happens to be a photo of my fav person in the entire world - my Gramama! Isn't she BEAUTIFUL???????
She's the woman who gifted me with my creativity and personality so wouldn't you prefer to see a photo of her way more than me????? Of course!!!!! Okay.....let's get on with this tutorial....

The first thing listed is why I feel a need to share this tutorial with everyone, and the second, about my adoration for chapstick is simply crucial to knowing who I am! Okay, let's get this party started. Recently we've had a theme of chalkboard paint, so let's keep it coming! So we have a corner bench table in our kitchen. 

I wish we used it more often, but it's mainly where all the kiddos sit when all our mommy friends come for play dates. I feel like our kitchen is small and during the winter months we park the car in the garage in the back so we use the back door much more frequently. We end up having piles of shoes, coats, snow and mud in all crevices of our kitchen area - ugh!

I decided to move the table where the long side would be visible, remove the bench seating and push the table against the wall...


Step 1: I cut a piece of plywood to fit the long side of the back of the table (approx. 41"X 16")
Step 2: Sanded the plywood down with 150 fine sandpaper

Step 3: Nailed the cut & sanded piece to the back of the open back

Step 4: I painted 3 coats of Krylon Chalkboard paint onto the sanded plywood

Step 5: Once dry, I attached 2 metal hooks and wrote with chalk on the top.

Super fun! My kids love it because it's at their level and they get their names on their own personal hooks! Woohooo - success!
